Donate Magazines
The Colorado State House has passed HB 1224, which would restrict the purchase and resale of magazines within the state to 15 rounds or less.
Until the bill is signed into law, however, the sale of such magazines is still legal. Colorado legislators should not and will not be swayed by calls and emails from the residents of other states. They serve their constituents, and respond to those constituents' desires.
However, gun rights advocates from outside the state still have a mechanism by which we can make our voices heard. By donating all sorts of magazines to be distributed before the ban takes effect, we show solidarity with Colorado gun owners and raise awareness of widespread oppositions to laws which restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.
The magazines we donate will not be 'sold,' per se. They will instead be exchanged for donations to Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, a Colorado gun rights advocacy group.
Reddit user w00df00t has established a working relationship with a Boulder gun store to receive the magazines. The address is:
C/o Operation Mountain Standard
Boulder Gunsport
1707 14th Street
Boulder, CO 80302
Please send all manner of firearms magazines to this address. Let's stand up for the rights of Colorado gun owners!
Please do not donate cash or checks. If you wish to advance the cause of liberty with money instead of magazines, your own state's advocacy groups would be more than happy to accept your donation. On a national level, we recommend the Second Amendment Foundation and the American Civil Liberties Union.
